4 Days Kidepo Valley Park Safari
This 4 Days Kidepo valley park safari: also known as “Uganda’s True Africa wilderness” will take you to Kidepo Valley National Park “The oasis’s in the valley” that makes the best water hole which attracts animals to a closure range making it the only park in Uganda that compares to a ranch with best views on the game drive. The park is shouldered by mountains giving it a resemblance to the Ngorongoro crater, also the park is spiced up with variety of animals like the cheetahs, cape buffalos, giraffes and much more. Kidepo Valley National Park has a very impressive bird list of over 470 species, it has the second highest bird record of any Ugandan protected areas after Queen Elizabeth National Park and it’s the best for viewing Northern semi-desert specials and 60 bird species on its list haven’t been recorded in any other Ugandan park and migratory birds are present here from November to April.

DETAILED ITINERARY
Day 1: Entebbe/Kampala – Transfer to Kitgum
After an early breakfast, you will be picked by one of our representatives from Great Nest Image Safaris who will brief you about this 4 days journey to the park and thereafter drive north of the city. You will pass by Karuma Falls, which is among a series on the river Nile and second to Murchison, you will also be greeted by troops of olive baboons and velvet monkeys. You will drive to Gulu town for lunch and here you will not fail to notice the fruits of peace after the 20 years of rebel insurgence, after lunch you will drive to Kitgum for Dinner and overnight stay

Day 2: Kidepo valley national park – Game drive
After an early morning breakfast, you will depart for Kidepo Valley National Park driving through the Acholi tribe small communities/villages of clusters with mud and thatch as the road winds through the mountain ranges of Keler and Loniyilli which offers some of the amazing views to stop and admire the scenery as you drop down the valley, upon your arrival, you will have lunch and check in your lodge, freshen up as you prepare for an afternoon game drive. Later you will go a game drive in the Narus Valley and here look out for the Lions, Giraffes, Jackson hartebeests, Leopards, African Buffaloes and Cheetahs. Later in the evening you will return to your lodge to enjoy the sunset. Dinner and overnight stay at your lodge.

Day 3: Kidepo valley national park – Game drive – Nature walk
You will catch the beautiful scenery of the sun rise behind the mountains before flooding the valley then off for the game drive to the ostrich farm, you will be able to view herds of elephants, giraffes, lions, cape Buffaloes and much more. Later you will return to your lodge for lunch and later in the afternoon you will be joined by an expert ranger guide for a nature walk to explore the park on foot away from the steel clad of safari car sharing his knowledge of the Eco-system and also bring you closure to the animals. Dinner and overnight stay will be at your lodge.

Day 4: Driving back to Entebbe/Kampala
You will have an early morning breakfast and later hit the road to start on your journey back to Entebbe/Kampala as you mark an end towards your 4 Days Kidepo valley safari the True Africa wilderness, but this is through the park as you do a game drive, giving you chance to see Elephants, Buffaloes and different kinds of antelopes as you make your exit through the Katarum gate. You will have a stopover in Gulu town for lunch and then proceed with your journey reaching Entebbe/Kampala late in the evening.

Best time to visit Kidepo Valley National Park
The park is open for tourism throughout the year, however the best time to visit is in September to March which is perfect for game viewing animals which gather around Narus valley for water since this is a dry period. Therefore, the best weather and peak season months are September, October, November and March and the worst time to visit the park is in April and May since these are the wettest months of the area.

Transport
Standard 4X4 Safari Vans/Land cruisers
Our standard mode of transport is by road and we use 4×4 Safari van and Land cruisers with open roof tops customized for game viewing and photography. Each Safari van/Land cruiser comes with a professionally trained driver/guide with fuel for the whole safari. Each client is entitled to a window seat and can take up to 8-10 people. We also have very comfortable super customs which can carry up 6 people with their luggage also have small vehicles like Alphads, Harrier and much more that can carry 4-5 people.
