3 Day Ssese Island Tour
This 3 Day Ssese Island tour: will take you to Ssese islands where you’ll chill at the lovely white sand-beaches as you watch the sunset. For the birders, the Island has got both forest and water bird species such as barbets, hornbills, robin-chats, turacos to mention but a few. At the forest near the island, mammal species such as the vervet monkey, bushbuck and black and white colobus can be looked out for.

DETAILED ITINERARY
Day 1: Depart Entebbe/Kampala – Transfer to Ssese Islands
After your breakfast, you will be picked by one of our representatives from Ssemambo Alex Tours & Travel who will transferred you to Nakiwogo Landing site where you will board the ferry to Lutoboka. Here the journey takes about 3 hours and on arrival you will check in your lodge/hotel to freshen up, lunch and relaxation and later in the evening you will enjoy the sweet melodies from different bird species with a cool rewarding breeze from the lake. Dinner and overnight stay at the lodge.

Day 2: Ssese Island Relaxation
You will have breakfast and later go for bird watching and forest walk in the nearby forest on the Island. Here you will be able to sight some primates like the monkeys and some different bird species like the Flycatchers, Hornbills, Herons, Kingfishers and much more. . In the afternoon you may relax on the airy beach or have a swim as well as sun bathe or take the canoe ride around other neighboring islands or do some Sport fishing. Dinner and overnight stay at the lodge.

Day 3: Transfer to Entebbe – Departure
After breakfast, you will leave the Island by the morning Ferry and you will have lunch in Entebbe and later you will be transferred to the Airport for your flight back home.

- Visit the Lutoboka Bay
The bay is situation 1km downhill from Kalangala, the sandy forest fringed bay offers a variety of beach activities including swimming and Canoeing. The forest encircling the bay hosts a number of bird species.
- Visit Bukasa Island
The second largest island in Ssese is Bukasa which lies on the eastern end of the archipelago. The island supports a profusion of birds and monkeys and can also be explored on foot.

Getting There
By ferry from Entebbe
The MV Kalangala is a daily passenger/vehicle ferry service that connects Lutoboka Port on Buggala Island to Nakiwogo Port. The ferry leaves Nakiwogo at 14:00 daily and starts the return trip from Lutoboka at 08:00 the next morning, taking 4 hours in either direction. One way fares are US$3/5 while vehicles are charged US$23 for a one way crossing but can also be parked in a compound at Nakiwogo for a small fee.
By ferry via Bukataka
A free vehicle ferry service connects the mainland port of Bukakata 40km east of Masaka to Luko 30km west of Kalangala several times daily. Two different ferries cross back and forth regularly between 08:00 and 18:00, taking 30 minutes in either direction.
