3 Day Semiliki National Park Safari
This 3 day Uganda Semiliki National Park Safari: will take you to Semuliki National Park found in Bundibugyo district and it covers a total area of two hundred and twenty square kilometers, siting on an altitude range of 670 to 760 meters above sea level. The forest is home to 53 mammals of which 27 are large mammals and 11 species are endemic to the park including the pygmy antelope and two flying squirrel species. The forest is remarkably rich in primates including the chimpanzee, baboon, grey-cheeked mangabey, black-and-white colobus and African red colobus among others.

DETAILED ITINERARY
Day 1: Depart Entebbe/Kampala – Travel to Semuliki
After breakfast, you will be picked by one of our representatives from Ssemambo Alex Tours & Travel and thereafter travel to Semuliki National Park which is approximately 7 to 8hours drive from Kampala. You will have lunch along the way; later reach the park check in at the lodge. In the evening you can decide to go for a night game drive through the park. Dinner and overnight at the lodge.

Day 2: Game drive – Explore the Sempaya hot springs
You will have breakfast, after you will drive to the Toro Semuliki wildlife reserve for a chance to catch up with early species that rush from their hideouts, animals to see include the savannah elephants, waterbucks, buffaloes, warthogs, Uganda kobs, crocodiles and bush babies.
You will return to the lodge for lunch and after set out and visit the Sempaya hot springs. These springs have a geyser that shoots up from the 8 meters hole, and the water is at a high temperature. Hot springs of Sempaya has a temperature of more than 100 degrees Celsius with hot surrounding pools and here will also have a chance to taste boiled eggs and bananas; boiled from the springs.
Along the trail where the hot springs are located, you will be in line to see a number of birds such as the Blue breasted Kingfisher and various primates such as the red tailed monkeys, and the grey cheeked mangabey. Later, you will proceed to Mungilo waterfalls where you will have an opportunity of seeing a number of beautiful bird species which is a great time for birders. Later you will return to your lodge for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 3: Depart to Kampala/Entebbe
After breakfast, you will start on your journey to Kampala/Entebbe with a stopover in Fort portal for lunch. You will arrive in Kampala/Entebbe late evening.

Best time to Visit Semuliki National Park
This beautiful national park can be visited throughout the year however for the best wildlife views we recommend you avoid the wet season and visit during the dry months.

There are a number of different primates found in this park that can best be seen during our forest walks. Some of the commonly seen primates in the park include: chimpanzees, de Brazza’s, baboons, red-tailed monkeys, vervet monkeys, grey-cheeked mangabeys, Central-African red colobus monkeys, Dent’s mona monkeys, black and white colobus monkeys as well as the blue monkeys.

The Park is one of the top birding destinations in Uganda with over 441 recorded species. There are 46 Guinea-Congo biome bird species which cannot be found anywhere else in East Africa. Some of the bird species include; Maxwell’s Black Weaver, Nkulengu Rail, Red-billed helmet-Shrike and many more.
- Red Monkey Trail
Following the eastern margin of the national park to the Semuliki River, this wilderness trail takes at least 3 hours in either direction, but offers exposure to a far greater variety of localized birds than the trial to the springs.
- Kirimia River Trail
This is highly recommended to birders, this 15km trail runs north from Kirimia on the main Bundibugyo Road to the banks of the Semuliki River, crossing the Kirimia River twice, as well as passing a succession of forest-fringed oxbow lakes.

Transport
Standard 4X4 Safari Vans/Land cruisers
Our standard mode of transport is by road and we use 4×4 Safari van and Land cruisers with open roof tops customized for game viewing and photography. Each Safari van/Land cruiser comes with a professionally trained driver/guide with fuel for the whole safari. Each client is entitled to a window seat and can take up to 8-10 people. We also have very comfortable super customs which can carry up 6 people with their luggage also have small vehicles like Alphads, Harrier and much more that can carry 4-5 people.
